Manufacturing

Odoo for manufacturers who live in the details.

BOMs, work orders, and shop floor control that match the way your factory actually runs.

Welding on a manufacturing shop floor

Overview

Manufacturing is unforgiving of vague systems. A bill of materials that does not match reality, or a work order flow that ignores how your floor operates, creates problems fast. We configure Odoo Manufacturing around your real processes — following the same phase-by-phase implementation guide we use on every project — from procurement to production to costing.

What we implement

Bills of materials, routings, and work centres.

Work orders and shop floor control.

Procurement and inventory tied to production.

Quality checks and traceability.

Accurate manufacturing costing and reporting.

The outcome

A factory that runs on one accurate system, with real time visibility from raw material to finished goods.

Frequently asked questions

Can Odoo calculate true production cost per unit, including labour and machine time, not just materials?

Yes, through multi-level bills of materials, routings across work centres, and both standard and actual costing methods, all native to Odoo Manufacturing. What genuinely needs shaping is the discipline behind it: choosing the right costing method per product category, and keeping bills of materials reviewed so they match what the shop floor actually consumes, rather than drifting quietly out of date.

Should manufacturing and inventory go live together, or is it better to phase the rollout?

We phase it deliberately. Inventory and purchasing go live first, so stock and procurement are accurate before production depends upon them. Work orders, routings, and shop floor terminals follow once that foundation holds, with costing and reporting closing out the project once real consumption data exists to cost against. Most manufacturers reach full go-live within eight to twelve weeks.

What happens if the Odoo manufacturing implementation runs past the date we agreed?

That risk sits with us, not with you. We agree a target go-live date in writing before work starts, and you see the system running on your own bills of materials and your own products before any payment is due. If we miss the date we committed to, you owe nothing, which keeps us disciplined about the phasing we recommend in the first place.
