Freight Forwarding
Odoo for freight forwarders, door to door.
Jobs, customs, demurrage, and margins across land, sea, and air — on one record.

Overview
Freight forwarding runs on details spread across many hands: legs, carriers, customs, free days, and rates. When those live in spreadsheets, margin leaks. We configure Odoo around the full job lifecycle — and because Knova built its own freight forwarding product on Odoo through its own custom development service, the hard problems are already solved.
What we implement
Job orders covering multi-leg land, sea, and air movements.
Customs and VAT computation with HS-code handling.
Demurrage and free-time tracking with clean billing.
Customer rates versus transporter costs, so margins are visible.
Status updates and shipment tracking your customers can see.
The outcome
Every job priced right, cleared on time, and closed with a margin you can trust.
Frequently asked questions
Can Odoo calculate UAE customs duty and VAT automatically for a Bill of Entry, or does someone still do that by hand?
On its own, no. Standard Odoo has no concept of a Bill of Entry or duty computed on CIF value. That customs and VAT engine, along with an HS-code master and Mirsal 2 handling, is the shaping work we build in as a freight forwarding module, so duty and VAT calculate automatically the moment a job is costed, rather than by whoever is in the office that day.
How long does a freight forwarding company take to go live on Odoo, and does that change with more trade lanes?
Most forwarders go live in six to ten weeks. The variable is not Odoo itself but how many lanes, carriers, and customs configurations need setting up, since land, sea, and air each carry different documentation and cost structures. We scope your actual lanes first, agree a target date in writing, and phase land-only or simpler lanes ahead of complex multi-leg jobs.
What is the actual risk to us if we commit to switching our freight operations onto Odoo?
Very little, by design. You see the module running on your own jobs, your own rate cards, and your own lanes before any payment is due, against a go-live date agreed in writing beforehand. If that date is missed, you owe nothing. The financial risk of a stalled or half-finished freight system sits with us, not with your operation.
