Odoo for 3PLs that bill every activity.

Multi-client warehousing with storage and handling billing that never leaks revenue.

Racked pallets in a fulfilment warehouse

Overview

A 3PL makes money on activities — receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping — and loses it when those activities go unbilled. We configure Odoo for true multi-client operations with contract-driven billing, informed by Knova's own 3PL billing product built on Odoo through the same Odoo implementation service we run for every client.

What we implement

Multi-client stock ownership with clean separation.

Rate cards and activity-based charge capture.

Storage billing by anniversary, calendar, or daily methods.

ASN receiving, discrepancies, and returns handling.

Client portals with live inventory and orders.

The outcome

Every pallet, pick, and day of storage accounted for — and invoiced.

Frequently asked questions

Can Odoo bill every warehouse activity automatically per client, or do we still need to build invoices manually?

Standard Odoo cannot, since its warehouse module is built for managing your own stock, not many clients' inventory under separate contracts. What we add is an activity-based billing layer where every receipt, pick, pack, and day of storage generates its own charge event against that client's rate card, so the invoice assembles itself from what actually happened in the warehouse.

How long before a 3PL is live, and how do we know the new billing is actually correct before we switch?

Most 3PL operations go live in six to ten weeks. Before cutover, we run one parallel billing month, comparing your existing spreadsheet invoices against what the system generates from the same activity, line by line. You only switch once the numbers hold up, and most operators find revenue that spreadsheets were quietly missing during that comparison.

Billing rules and rate cards change as our clients change. How do you support us after go-live?

A senior consultant visits your warehouse once or twice a week as ongoing, on-site support rather than a distant help desk. That matters for 3PL operations specifically, since new client contracts, revised rate cards, and added storage tiers need configuring correctly as they arrive, and having someone who already knows your billing engine on-site catches errors before they reach an invoice.
