The most common question we hear — and the one most partners answer vaguely. Here are honest numbers, based on a decade of implementations across the UAE and GCC. Every project is different, but the pattern is consistent.

Typical ranges

  • Starter (5–15 users, standard modules): roughly AED 25,000–60,000. Sales, purchasing, inventory, accounting, light configuration, training.
  • SME (15–50 users, some customisation): roughly AED 60,000–150,000. Multiple departments, data migration, custom reports, integrations.
  • Complex (multi-company, manufacturing, heavy custom): AED 150,000–400,000+. Multi-entity structures, custom modules, third-party integrations, phased rollouts.

Odoo licence fees are separate — Odoo charges per user per year, and pricing depends on your plan and region. Implementation is typically the larger investment in year one, and the licence the larger cost from year two onward.

What actually drives the price

  • Process complexity, not company size. A 10-person freight forwarder can be more complex than a 50-person trading company.
  • Data migration. Clean data is cheap to move; years of messy records are not.
  • Customisation. Every custom module adds build cost and upgrade cost later. Good partners talk you out of unnecessary custom work.
  • Integrations. Payment gateways, e-commerce, government portals — each connection adds scope.
  • Who does the work. Senior techno-functional people cost more per day and less per project, because they get it right the first time.

How to avoid budget surprises

Insist on a documented requirements phase before anyone quotes a fixed number, ask what is excluded, and check who actually works on your project. Better yet, remove the risk entirely: at Knova, you pay nothing until you see your software working — if we miss your go-live date, you walk away. That guarantee only works because our estimates are honest.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an Odoo implementation take in the UAE?

A starter scope typically goes live in 4–8 weeks, SME scope in 2–4 months, and complex multi-company projects in 4–8 months. Tell us your target date — that becomes our deadline.

Are Odoo licences included in implementation cost?

No — licences are paid to Odoo separately, per user per year. Your implementation partner should help you buy only the licences you actually need.

Is Odoo cheaper than SAP or Dynamics?

Substantially, in both licences and implementation. That is why mid-market UAE companies increasingly choose it — you get 80–90% of the capability at a fraction of the total cost.
